I'm trying to find a shower head with a built in device to remove the minerals from hard water. Can someone make a recommendation? I can't find any devices like this.
There is a product at Cleaning Ideas for lime and scale removal. You pour some into a bowl and dip the shower head into it and hold it there for 30 seconds. I leave the shower head on and raise the bowl to the shower head and hold it. Alot less trouble than removing the head and soaking it.
If you do it about every six months it takes 5 minutes to complete and becomes a routine.
Sanivac works wonders for removing calcium buildup, but it's pretty powerful and will eat up whatever you put it on if you're not careful.
I don't think that water softening showerheads exist. If they do, you'd have to add salt pretty often.
