Hi everyone! Just wondering if there is anyone out there who has purchased one of the SunSetter Retractable awnings? If so, do you like it? Is the price worth it? We are looking into buying one but I would like to hear from real people what they like or dislike about it. Thanks!!

I'd love to hear what owners think too! I've been toying with the idea of buying one for a few years.

I have had one for over two years. I am very happy with it and feel it was worth the price.

I've installed a few... all had the electric option with wireless remote.

So far, no problems at all and they did transform a south-facing deck into a very usable space in summer.

I've heard that Costco and others offers similar products.

The only complaint was one order was delayed almost 3 weeks... get delivery date confirmation!

They are nice. But keep in mind that very few communist HOAs allow them. So check that first with Josef Stalin before you buy it and they make you take it down.

I like them. I'm in many peoples homes and see them often in non commy HOA neighborhoods.

Why would HOAs have a problem with this?

I could never live in an HOA. For that reason alone, I could never live in the South. I'm so glad HOAs aren't popular in my region.

This is too funny!

I found an HOA that has approved ONLY Sunsetter brand retractable awnings.

You are approved to select from THREE UGLY COLORS!

You'd think the HOA people making these decisions for everyone would have some taste.

These approved awnings aren't as attractive as the awning in my previous post.

I could never live with people telling me what I can and can not do with my own house!

Far as I know our neighborhood doesn't have any problems with us putting one up. We live in a doublewide, so I am hoping the awnings will fit on it too.

How come the pictures don't show what I've seen on the awning in the TV commercial?
There's the supports on the sides that we always laugh at when we see the ad, we keep kind of hoping that the goofy guy in the commercial would "clock" himself by walking into it...never happens of course but figured it was such a design flaw that it must be pretty annoying to try and get used to it.
Or are there other designs that they offer without the side supports?

If you look closely, the first picture of the green awning has a white support on the right side.

I think there are support designs and non-support designs, not sure though.
