Hello All,

Finally after having a travelling job for a year, I am getting to settle down and enjoy my home. I was looking for some furniture to fill it up with. Currently its empty a football ground! But i have no idea about them. I mostly know the of commercial chains, like Ashley/Nebraska/Ikea. But not sure if their product quality is up to par. Their prices look really good though! Coz at the end of the day, buying furniture online, is not like buying a laptop! I just wont know what i would get. Affordability with quality is what i am looking for. And when it comes decor and aesthetics, i wont rate myself very highly on that! Probably 2/10 or maybe not even that!

To start off with i need a sectional for the living room and a queen bed for my second bed room, i will think about the third bed room later.

I am in the Dallas area if that helps!

Nebraska has 'value produced' prices and quality all the way up to very high end. Go In person and if you're looking for high quality, avoid anything labeled value produced. Though our VP is fine (and 10 years old) and would be in great shape but we moved from NE, to DFW and back to NE. The moves were hard on our stuff.

Everything in our house is from NFM. We're having a new dryer delivered tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did see some stuff that are marked "not value produced". But they are hard to find.

Stickley/Sofa Co. .. I might have to Google those names.

NFM does have a wide range of furniture, from cheap stuff to high end. You just have to look and see what they have (and if you haven't been there before, don't expect to get through the whole store in a day!). I just bought a new bedroom suite that I love. It would be in between the middle (quality-wise) and high-end furniture that they have.

Be very careful if you go to Ikea. I used to really love their furniture, but they are really moving away from using real wood in some of their lines and using more particle board. It really depends on what you want there.

You might check out Weir's (and especially their outlet). They have really nice quality furniture. And there is The Dump in Dallas. If you have never been there, it is basically a high-end outlet. Kind of like a garage sale - and like a garage sale sometimes you have to look a lot but can end up with a wonderful piece.

Good luck furnishing your house!

If you're up for traveling, look at Hickory and High Point North Carolina. It's been years and I recall one town being better than the other but don't recall which.

A lot of furniture is made in those areas and there's a huge number of outlet stores. I remember being in a 3-story mall and every store was furniture or furniture related.

We bought several rooms worth of furniture from different stores. Whatever store you buy the most from is responsible for getting all your furniture from the other stores and arranging delivery for all of it. IIRC, shipping was pretty fast.
