Default Newly refinished floors- does this make sense?

Becuase it is so humind, our floor guy put down a coat of Universeal Sealer (Duraseal) instead of poly. then he will put down two layers of poly.
Anybody hear of this?

Also how soon after last coating can we walk or can my guys clean our windows?

I've used a sealer before applying coats of poly and had fantastic results with it.

I think curing/drying time can vary with temp and humidity. I'd generally stay off it for a full 24 hours.

Yes, this makes sense. If you have bare wood without stain it is common in my very humid neck of the woods to apply a penetrating sealer prior to the application of the polyurethane finish.

If you go with stained wood floors I believe that the sealer needs to be a surface sealer rather than a penetrating sealer.

Either way, if you reside in an environment that has sustained high humidity levels during all or part of the year it isn't a frivolous expense.
