So I just had Black Galaxy granite installed in the kitchen - it is L shaped but they had to use 2 separate pieces
My question is this: The "line" where one piece is connecting to the 2nd piece is seen very easily, how do I make it "disappear" or atleast try to hide it and make it less coming out?
I will take a pic tonight but I love everything else about the Black Galaxy except this line!
They are supposed to do that. They put a granule/powder/epoxy mix of some sort and grind it in, matching the color. You should have NO seam showing.
Call the company & tell them it needs to be done right.
There is no way to hide that seem 100%. They should always tell the customer that in advance and some granite companies make the customer sign saying they understand a seam will show so they dont come back crying later.
If it is showing bad and sticking out like a sore thumb then there may be poor installation issue. Your black galaxie should hide it pretty good.
It is much easier for installers to hide a seam when the granite is busy rather than a solid color. But regardless of the movement in or color of your granite, your seams should be even smooth and filled - there is no excuse for bad workmanship....call and complain.

I agree. You should have to really search for a seam on granite. It should not be obvious especially from several feet away.

Actually it's easier to hide a seam when the granite is a solid color. If it's busy with all kinds of patterns then no one can match those patterns. This goes for wood too. I design my pieces to never ever have a seam because seams are a curse, it's more of a curese in wood then granite.

same thing with designing window treatments, one always has to keep the fabric pattern/nap of fabric in mind.
