Default extending concrete driveway, recoating existing?

We would like to extend our driveway to add a parking pad.

Is it possible to recoat [concrete] the existing driveway to ensure it has similar color and finish as the new section - also to repair some cracks which have not yet caused any buckling?

I would also like to rescore the lines to have smaller slabs? Maybe just aesthetic - I imagine there is rebar under themthar slabs.

Plan on getting a contractor to do it - just want advice going into it.

Default Recoating existing driveway

Hi, recoating can be done but the concrete will really never look that great, it depends on your budget. It is a quick and cheap solution and does not look horrible, but for a small investment, you can get new concrete that will last a long time and look great. Especially if you are just extending an existing driveway and adding a small area, a job like that does not sound very big and would be priced nice.

Good luck however you decide but I would just invest a bit and get new concrete, for the cracks, consult with the contractor and see what your options are.
