I am confused. I have a two story house, decorating style - no clutter, no curtains, very basic decorating. I have two girls that pick up after themselves and the house is pretty much in need of bi weekly maintenance.

I was recommended a cleaning person, her fee is $100.00 per day, if this person works about 5-6 hours and leaves some areas untouched but not a big deal. Is $16.00 an hour average too much or not enough??????

Does anyone have a similar situation?????????????

For 5 or 6 hours, that sounds about on target to me. Maybe a little cheaper than you would pay here in Texas actually,

I pay $80 biweekly. I don't know how long she stays. I have a two story house with a finished basement and four and a half baths. She cleans all the bathrooms, mops and vacuums, dusts tables and things but not blinds and baseboards.

When I looked at cleaning services (DC area), it was about $100/biweekly for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 943 sq ft townhome. It all depends on where you are. For a large, metro area like Miami - its probably pretty good.

That would be cheap where I live.....I guess you have to ask yourself: Would you clean other people's toilets for $16 an hour?

$130 for 1.5 hrs - 4 people, biweekly. 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath CHC. I think it's too much.

$130 but I'm giving them a raise, $140 every two weeks. One lady and her aunt. She cleans EVERYTHING! I mean she moves the furniture, wipes down even the kitchen chairs, leather furniture, dusts EVERYTHING, cleans baseboards, windows, shutters, dusts drapes. No stone left unturned in my house when she is done and it smells and feels oh so clean. Pretty big house too, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, formals, gameroom, media room, etc that is a hair under 5000 sq ft. I've been using her for about 4 years now.

I have paid a wide range. I am currently paying $60 for 3 hours of work. That may seen steep, but I have had people who come and clean around and not under objects, etc. She cleans the inside and outside of the windows, does everything except laundry because I prefer to do that myself.

It's just the two of us and a small dog. We don't create a lot of work. This lady does a good job and I am picky. I am one of those people who goes around with a bottle of clorox and a cloth. :-)
