Hide a bed question
I have a queen sized hide a bed which looks rather worn and is too big for my room. I want to make it into a loveseat with an open end. I plan to strip the fabric on the bottom and face it with wood, and make an ottoman to complete the size if someone wants to sleep on it. A platform on the couch where the hide a bed frame is should work for cushions.
I can't really afford to buy a new couch. I could make a bench the right length and use the old loveseat cushions I have but this is sturdy and if the matress system could be removed would make a great base. And I hate to throw away something useful.
Are they removable? Is it really difficult?
The matress has already been "recycled" as a nice foam liner for my bed.
