Looking for a higher end faucet that doesn't have to be replaced after five or six years. I"ve had singel handle Moen in the past and they just don't last and if repaired it doesn't last for more than a year or two. I'm looking manufacturer of a two handle that will give me years of useage. My wife is done with the single handles.......

Waltz, American Standard.Don't get anything without seats and washers. The seat is a replaceable metal(brass)base that the washer "seats" on.The washer is a replaceable rubber that seals off the water when you close the faucet/s.A chrome plated, brass bodied faucet should last as long as it takes to wear the chrome off the finish.Say,....50 years,...while replacing the seats and washers when needed.A faucet only needs enough pressure when turning off the faucet to stop the water. Many people use enough turning pressure to seal a submarine hatch, which causes premature failure of the washer.Once the washer is failing and you have a drip it is wearing away the brass seat.
Avoid any faucets with cartridges or porcelan discs. These sometimes cost half the price of a new faucet.
Hope this helps.

OR . . just accept that a single-handle kitchen faucet WILL need replacing (or repair) every few years, and purchase a "value priced" model such as Oak Brook.

I have had three or four brands over the years and the best has been Moen (although I liked the styling and feel of others better) but it seems all if them need replacement in less than ten years if used heavily.

We bought our home last year and the seller left us all the brochures and pamphlets on all the fixtures. Recently when trying to fix the kitchen faucet, I realized the manufacturer has a lifetime warranty. I called and they sent me replacement parts (I paid for shipping). I don't know what I'm doing and complained about different parts failing so they finally sent me a complete brand new faucet. Now I have one for spare parts.

See if you have any such warranty. It makes repairs a little easier to swallow.

They're "American Made". That's the biggest problem with the ones made now, they're made in China" and they're junk!

G & S (I do not remember the full names of the G and the S). It is an italian brand. They have a lifetime warranty on the finish. Be prepared to pay through the nose. However the quality is really high. They are not easy to find either.
