I've never has a gas oven. There is one at the house where I stay part time. The hinges in the door are very noisy. My first instinct is to grab the WD40, but thought better of it. What should I use? It's an old oven, probably 20 or so years at least.
I don't foresee any problem with using WD40. I suppose you were thinking -fire?
The hinges are outside out the oven box seal- so there shouldn't be any problem- just don't go hog wild with. And don't get it in the broiler area. If there is a pilot light you may want to put it out while spraying.
Or use some light oil (3 in 1) that's in a by-the-drop dispensing can.
