Since this thread is about laundry, does anyone know how to get ink stains out of clothing? I have a white shirt with green ink stains on it. ICCCKKKKK! I can't seem to get it out either.

Well, I lived in Uganda as a volunteer for 2 years. About 4 days a week I would start the day with laundry. I was lucky to have a hose and indoor plumbing, so I'd fill up three big plastic basins with water. I would sit on my back porch on a stool. I used one basin for washing, 2 for rinsing. I bought a washboard from the US about a year into the term. Not having a wringer, I had to squeeze everything before hanging on the clothesline. Lots of fun with sheets, towels, and jeans.

Nothing was ever thoroughly cleaned or rinsed. I also had to iron everything.

Not the answer you were looking for?

Well I'm now grateful to be using my modern washer and dryer. Very grateful.

Try some hairspray, then daub it well with paper towels, hit it with the hairspray again, then use some spot remover or some hydrogen peroxide on it. Wash as usual. With any luck, you'll have a good-as-new white shirt. Crossing my fingers for you!
