My house used to have Evaporative Cooler aka swamp cooler. I now have central air, it was put in before I moved in. I want to cover the opening for the cooler at the end of the hall, because there is just a hole with a register covering it. What would be the best way to cover up, and make it weatherproof. Eventually I will take the opening off the roof, but that will happen whenever I can replace the roof. Would you recommend taking out the whole system, ductwork etc in the attic, or just cover over it on the roof, and patch the hole, your suggestions?
