either or..
I think both are great for people that are looking for fine countertops. My parents have corian and love it and most people I know have granite..really just a preference. I would go with what you like.

I vote for Granite or Granite tiles if cost is an issue. Although I've seen tasteful Corian installations, unless you really have an eye for design, corian can look cheesy to my eye. Especially when non neutral colors (yuk, yuk) are chosen. I've even seen neutrals look bad.

corian
My parents never looked dull and they have had it for 14 yrs. I actually think I prefer that over granite but granite is more glossy. I actually love corian in bathrooms.

Granite I think looks a little better. Corian is nice too. I really like the way the built in sinks fit in the Corian, with Granite it kind of lays over the sink and I suspect over time grime will get in that groove (We have Granite). Either way, they look nice if you get the right colors.

Agree with above poster.
You really cannot go wrong with either. It's a preference with the gloss look when it comes down to it I guess.

My in-laws just redid their kitchen and opted for Corian. Looks like formica tops to me, not impressed at all. I REALLY have been impressed by the granite in our old house and the new one as well... I'm a granite guy 4 life!

Just went through this choice process with Saussy Burbank. If your house is $300K or above range, for resale it must be granite... So, said every realtor and decorator I checked with. I actually liked the look of the Corian sink undermount much better but was persuaded to granite.
