Looking for a country get-a-way west of Katy,
Fulshear is too built up and expensive. Thinking maybe Pattison, Brookshire, Monaville....some place to eventually retire to but we can commute down I-10 from east downtown Houston. Trees, 3-5 acres, quiet and unrestricted. A place to recharge our batteries away from subdivisions. Just nature. Any place like that left west but a reasonable commute. Don't want hubbie falling asleep at the wheel. Finding a place with a well and elec would be great!

Thanks for your input!

Sealy sounds like a good option for you. Brookshire is a good place in between Sealy and Katy.

But I would say Sealy, it fits your description quite nicely.

I grew up in Sealy. In general Sealy is considered a much nicer place than Brookshire and the other tiny places you mentioned (Brookshire is, on the whole, very run down with many dilapidated bulidings). It takes 45 minutes to get from Sealy to the Galleria area as an example of the driving distance/time you would be looking at. My parents still live there and I know quite a lot about the area and town so message me if you want more info. Sealy is a classic small Texas town. It's not as pretty or as wealthy as La Grange or Gonzales but the town residents are very friendly and welcoming and, in general, there are many decent services (several decent restaurants, local grocery as well as super walmart)...and its CHEAP and there is a lot of land available!
