My approach is some you can't just depend on Kemah for amusement and can't just keep EQA from getting built by saying that you already have an amusement park. That's all I'm saying.
Who just depends on Kemah for amusement? There is Discovery Green, The Aquarium Downtown, Herman Park/Museum District, and Space Center Houston. If Kemah is destroyed there will be plenty to do. But more important if Kemah is destroyed most likely a lot of other cities and towns along the coast and Southeast Houston. Would we really care that we lost an amusement park or that a major/important part of the city was destroyed. Who the heck would be saying, "Oh no, we just lost our only amusement."

I think a big amusement park brings a special atmosphere that some of those places you mentioned can't bring. More importantly to the youth who can benefit from having a good time at an amusement park. When I was young and we use to take trips to Dallas. I had a fun time at the museums at the Fair Grounds and the parks in the area. But it was nothing like Six Flags over Texas. If Houston lost Kemah I don't think people would care but I know people cared when Astroworld was taken away. But only because Astroworld could have been so much better if they invested more into it and put it in a better location. It just kind of sucks being the 4th largest city and not having a major amusement park in the area. And btw I happen to like Kemah. It serves it's purpose to me. It's a good place to take a date can't beat that. I would just like to not have to drive to San Antonio or DFW for a big amusement park.

Okay I understand you, I don't hate Kemah Boardwalk, but I do go there most of the times on Thursday's & Friday's. But I said that I,ve only been to Astroworld One Time in 1997.

(Sighs) I also went to SFGAm with my uncle, & there was Shockwave, & It was already closed

Kemah Boardwalk

I'm not sure their methodology for "top 10", but I can say it was unpleasantly crowded there last summer on weekends, and there was always some kind of festival of sorts going on in the daytime. I agree with the rest of what you're saying though.

And I don't think the tourism will affect ''the city'' very much. I would think it could turn The Woodlands into something even more popular though, as in somewhere to spend a night and hang out. Same goes for Kemah, it already benefits the Clear Lake area more than "the city." Hotels with only average amenities costing $190/night on weekends speaks for itself.

No one gave a crap about Astroworld. That's why it closed down. People were just sad for nostalgic reasons. Those same people had no intentions of still going if it was open. There are countless other ways youth can benefit from having a good time rather than at an amusement park.
