I was reading threads on this forum on how to save electricity and reading articles on the net. I came across some information for a bed fan. Here is the link:

Saving electricity, Sleeping cool and saving money

Has anyone tried this? Is it noisy? I must have been a vampire in a previous life because I like it super cold, dark, and quiet at night when I sleep. I thought that maybe this would cut down on my electric bill, but it seems too good to be true. I laughed at the advertisement when I saw it because it looks crazy but then I started scratching my head and wondering if it works.

Wow, that looks awesome! It looks reasonably priced too. I have terrible night sweats every night and I never sleep the whole night through.

If only my husband weren't the always cold type.

I ran across this a couple of years ago (I seem to remember a much more expensive price then) and thought about it.

Hey, that looks like a pretty cool tool but I'd like to share a similar idea. When staying with a sister for a short while and in very poor air conditioning... well, none at night, I needed to do something. I found what really was a desk fan, about a foot long and cylindrical and with a roller drum fan rather a typical blade fan. It had a clamp and would tilt and rotate to control air direction. It had low and high speeds.

At night I'd clamp the thing at the foot of my bed, blowing towards my head, something similar to the device in the link. The low speed was a gentle breeze. By morning I was using my sheet to block the breeze.

I think the thing cost about $15.

That is a good idea! At least to try something similar out before throwing down the big bucks.

We still love you Ronnie...even if you do fart in your sleep.
