The amount of mouth breathing window lickers I see causing near crashes because they seem to be unable to drive without using a phone never ceases to amaze me.
What makes bluetooth okay? Either you're good enough to multitask and drive and talk at the same time, or you're not. Surely you don't think it's the physically holding the phone that is the distracting part?

BTW what source says that adults are more likely to text while driving than youth?

"There's been a lot of focus on young drivers, and for good reasons," says Mary Madden, senior research specialist at Pew. "But this research provides an important reminder that adults are setting a bad example."

Pew's findings may change the way opponents of the practice approach the issue. "It's a reminder we need to apply a broad brush to this problem and not just focus on teen drivers," Madden says.
So parents need to be educated too. Also remember that today's teens are tomorrow's parents.

Anyway, show that anti-texting while driving video to anyone who you know is texting behind the wheel.

I've been right. I've said from the beginning adults are just as bad as teens.

...about one aspect: texting while driving.

But in general teen drivers have higher risks than adults, as the university page stated.

But everyone is still a risk on the road. I doubt forcing people to go to driving school will suddenly fix drunk driving, texting while driving, and the other BS.

Well yes, there's always a risk when one goes on a road, and every person presents some sort of risk. But in general young drivers present more of a risk than older drivers.

However driving schools can teach "defensive driving," making it less likely for someone to be involved in an accident (i.e. if someone is messing up, other drivers will be able to react to the person's mistake) - They can teach people about the laws against drunk driving (upon seeing the laws, people will realize it is not worth the risk to drive drunk) - Once states pass stricter laws against texting while driving, people will also make the same judgment about texting while driving.

Also that video clip I showed is just a sample of a longer 30 minute movie that goes in detail about this incident. Who would be showing the full version? Driving schools.

I agree, but there are millions of videos out there shown that see what type of damage and pain drunk driving and texting while driving can cause. Yet things are getting worse; as a whole. Adult drivers are much more prone to texting while driving. That's far more dangerous than simply Teenagers have a higher accident rate (which isn't even that much higher).

Maybe if the police focused more on things like this instead of worrying about broken taillights and expired insurance. Things could change.

In small cities (including those surrounded by Houston) police will nab you for anything because there is little else to do, but in Houston police do have better things to do. That's why one can get away with speeding in Houston, but not in Spring Valley...
