Is it a safe area to live? Any other information you have about the area would be nice.

I would avoid it if possible. Go a little north to Summerwood or NE to Crosby.

Not desirable at all anymore. It smells, high crime and its old and run down. Some areas flood.

I think previous posters are confusing the North Shore you are asking about with Northshore(Cloverleaf). Northshore(Cloverleaf) borders I-10 and I would definitely avoid. North Shore is further north, newer and not a bad place to live. There are lots of shops and many more to come especially at the intersection of BW8 and Crosby Fwy once construction finishes. If you are looking at the area, I would recommend looking at homes in New Forest.

Agreed, there are some really nice subdivisions in that area.

The poster asked about North Shore in Houston. that is off I-10 near the ship channel. He did not mention Cloverleaf.

This is what I meant by confusion. Northshore and North Shore are both in Houston, north of I-10E and the ship channel. Cloverleaf is a Census Designated Place (CDP) that contains a large chunk of Northshore (zip 77015), and North Shore is immediately north of Northshore in unincorporated Harris County in the zip code 77049.
