We've been debating moving our account from Chase (former WaMu happy customers) - what do you prefer about Wells to Chase? Wells would be a lot more convenient to us as far as location.

We like Wells primarily because of the convenience of having branches in Randalls supermarkets. I've also found their customer service to be pretty good as well.

I use Schwab for my banking. They give you a high yield (used to be at least... nothing is high yield with these low rates!) checking account, free checks, and reimburse any ATM fees. Great customer service too -- just not many branches if you actually need brick and mortar services. For those, we have a chase account we keep next to nothing in.

I use BOA because of three reasons (only):

1. Family concerns (whole family uses BOA, so easier to move money back and forth caring for elderly parents).

2. Branches---and atms---all over everywhere (not just Houston).

3. Their online banking is actually very good.

Otherwise, I truly detest them (try to avoid going in their lobby at all costs).

The only thing I hate worse than BOA---is Chase. They truly suck. I can't say enough nasty things about them.

Never tried Wells Fargo, but have a friend who suffered the same fate as the person above, who had all their funds siphoned. Also, I didn't like Wachovia, so not sure why I'd go there now with a different sign on the door.

Honestly, I've not found one I actually liked in a long time.

Personally, I bank with chase. BOA is pretty good also as they have tons of locations throughout the city.

I bank with Wells Fargo because I work there. I'd bank with them anyway, and, yes, I am a corporate shill.
