you said if you follow traffic regulations you don't get a ticket, so tell me what traffic regualtions the people in post 37 didn't follow, they all got tickets and what traffic regulations I didn't follow if I were to let someone use my vehicle that gets a camera ticket but it sends me the ticket.

Here's why that doesn't matter. If the vehicle is registered to you, then you get the ticket. BUT......it isn't a moving violation (no points on drivers license records) and all you get is a fine. It's up to you to get the money from whomever you gave your vehicle too.

Just sayin'...

Nope, not that simple.
I received 3 red-light tickets in the mail one day for simply making a right turn at an intersection.
It's not like I was speeding through the intersection putting anyone's life at risk.

I vote for what they did in Clear Lake. Bunk 'red-light camera' signs in places where there are actually no cameras. There area bout a dozen signs in the area but only 3 actual cameras. Apparently this experiment (or whatever you call it) is working.

I would guess you are not aware of your constitutional rights to due process, as many in this country are.

No it up to you to demand your right to due process before you wake up and find out there "ALL" gone .

That's a different argument, he claimed that if you don't violate the law you won't get a ticket, is that an accurate statement or not?

Isn't the fact that it isn't a moving violation, no arrest warrant, no points on your license or insurance, no hit on your credit or any real penalty another reason not to be in favor of the cameras?

To me the idea that it is OK to give tickets to people who violated no law because that citizen should take it upon themselves to track down the person who did violate the law is problematic at best. We already delegated law enforcement to an out of state for profit corporation now we should delegate the collection of law enforcement fines to private citizens who did nothing wrong?

You guys are blowing this out of proportion...if you don't want to get red light fines, speeding tickets etc... well then ask for more public urban transportation in Houston. That is what we really need...

Great, since you won't address it we apparently agree that following the law doesn't mean you won't get a camera ticket. More public transportation is fine with me. I don't think that you can possibly blow a program that was installed fraudulently under the guise of safety but causes accidents and took $100 million out of the pockets of Texas residents out of proportion.

While I can see the many sides of this debate, and appreciate the varied reasonings many have presented, this is one I don't buy AT ALL. Who cares what the excuse is? Someone ran a red light. Pay the price, and hope you didn't kill anyone.

You still broke the law. You made a right on red without coming to a stop.
