Thanks for the info. I will have a vehicle as Charlotte and Charleston both have pretty poor public transit. I do not mind a commute I just don't want to spend 3hrs a day in traffic. I contacted Hilton College this morning but don't expect anything back until at least Monday. Are there any areas in Houston that $850 will get you a decent 2 bedroom?

just letting you know, you can get a brand new efficiency apartment at calhoun lofts on the UH campus, it is a complex for young professionals in the same predicament as you

My suggestion would be to try and find an apt. in Midtown (outskirts of downtown) and extremely close the U of H campus. Good area, lots of young singles and young couples.
