Default 3 days in Houston on Dec. 25,26,27

My family are going to travel in Houston on those three days. Our son is 16. What would you suggest we should see and do? Thanks.

Stuff your face until you can't eat anymore. We have a very diverse food scene.

Your son is 16. At 16 I can't say I was interested in going to the museums or parks with my parents so I'll just stick to suggesting food.

That's the Christmas weekend. Some venues you plan to visit may be closed longer than just Dec. 25th, so your best bet is to do a web search and see what's open.

Suggest any face stuffing places near Compac Center (Lakewood Church)? We love all types of food, especially authentic Chinese.

Near Highway 59 and Gessner there is a place called Fung's Kitchen and they have amazing Peking duck. You have to order it a day in advance, though...but it is worth it!

Right at Highway 59 and Gessner there is another place called Peking Cuisine that also makes great Peking duck but it is a little cheaper than Fung's...the quality is still great and you still have to order a day in advance. They have other really good stuff, too...I tried a pork and eggplant dish and a whole fish that was battered and deep fried and covered with a really great sweet and tangy sauce.

Really good stuff and I'm guessing it's quite authentic in these places because I've never seen anyone else who wasn't Asian in them.

There are tons of small, cheap, authentic and really tasty Asian eateries on Bellaire blvd...mainly between Highway 59 and Beltway 8. Chinese and Vietnamese places are the most numerous (and there are a LOT of them), but there are also many other places serving other cuisines like Japanese, Korean, Singaporean, Malaysian, Filipino, Nicaraguan, Mexican, Honduran, Salvadorean, Thai, Taiwanese, etc.. My favorite little Chinese place is called Yummy Kitchen and it's pretty cheap and the food is simple and delicious...seems very much like home cooking. There's also a lot of tapioca tea places in the area...and places that sell Chinese baked goods.

The area around 59 and Hillcroft ave. has a lot more Indian, Pakistani, and Middle Eastern stuff. I would definitely recommend going to a place called Raja Sweets for Indian sweets. Besan Ladoos (balls of sweet fried chickpea flour) and Burfi (Milk candy with different stuff in it) are really good.

Thanks a lot. This is really helpful information.
