ACK!

The taxes are rolled into your monthly rent.

You didn't answer my other question though: you receive a monthly bill to pay your rent?

In the mean time the article's author still pays rent and has to deal with who-know-what a door down.
The author has no debt, does not have to worry any extra costs (taxes, maintenence, other fees), no emergency costs, free to move around whenever, has a lot more extra money saved for investments (Stock market has return more then doubled then what the real estate returns).

Yes I do but it does not state taxes.

Oh, and for the record even if you payoff that 30 year debt, you still don’t “own” your home. I guarantee if you don’t pay your property taxes the government Will take your house. So wither your paying a landlord or your paying the government, YOUR PAYING SOMEBODY, you don’t own sh*t. Good day people.[/SIZE]
So renting is actually better and you have more money saved for investments.

I've never heard of anyone receiving a monthly bill for rent. We sign a lease.

Anyway...this is like the never-ending argument of city living vs suburban living.

To each his/her own and really, I don't care whether anyone rents or buys a home. Whatever floats your boat.

Absolutely the costs are rolled in.
Of course they don't tell you - they don't have to tell you.
But you're paying for everything.
Do you honestly think you're getting that for free?

I'm pretty sure Texas User is trolling...and doing a terrible job of it at that.

No, honestly, I don't think he knows any better.

Renting makes sense to a certain point....and even past that point if you're just here to work for a couple years or so. But if I have the money to buy and I'm thinking about staying put for the long haul, then I'd buy. Not that either of those apply to me at the moment.
