Hi! I am considering moving to Houston to work at MD Anderson Cancer Center. I currently live in Orlando, FL and I am sick of it! So, I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on whether Houston would be a better city to live in than Orlando as far as having things to do and more of a younger crowd. I'm a young single woman looking to rent in an area that would be walking distance to things, so what areas should I be looking in?

Thanks!

My brother and his family did move from Windermere if you know where that is to a suburb in Houston.

The 'young single' scene here in Houston is hopping. Full of young professionals, lots of places to meet other people and many of them instrumental in outlook.

When I first got here I was like a dog with two *****. I've matured since then.

Do you already have the job at MDACC? If so, I'd do it. You'll get great experience at MDACC, and it's not exactly the easiest place to get a job.

As far as the rest... I definitely think Houston is a big step up from Orlando, especially for singles. Midtown or Montrose are a few areas you might look.

Orlando's job market is extremely tough right know... Houston will be an easer place to look for a job... I came to Orlando for school but I'm so worried that I hadn't find a job after looking for 5 months... If I don't get a job anytime soon I'll leave this place...

Default Yes move to Houston it is better here

you would be happier here because of the awesome singles scene and the low unemployment rate. I think it would be a great idea

Houston is in many ways similar to Orlando but since it is a much larger city overall there is more of a singles scene here along with more job opurtunities.
