Does anybody drive a Honda Accord LX? 4 cylinder. I wonder what kind of mileage you can get out of city roads. I remember I used to get 25 mpg but since I changed my tires in April, it dropped to 22. Now I am only getting 20.

Might be better suited to a Honda specific forum.

I like to hear experience in Houston as different climate has different effect on mileage.

Have you checked your pressures since April? Under inflated tires will reduce your mileage. It's important to check them regularly, particularly as the outside temperatures start to vary dramatically from one day to the next.

Also making sure your air filters have been changed recently.

I put nitrogen in my tires and love it! I used to have to fill up my tires with air periodically. But when I switched to nitrogen, they stayed inflated to their appropriate levels.

Yeah.... I am a Honda driver, and I get about 360 miles/city and 430 miles hwy per tank. Not the greatest, though, but I am not an economic driver.
I check my filter, and tire pressure periodically. Besides that, is a great car, never in the shop except regular maintenance. I use synthetic oil.

20 is low for a 4 cyl car - something is wrong. Check your Honda forum.

Check tire pressure and sizing. Pressure should be what is inside the door jamb stone cold. Did you swap rims? Did they put on a different size tire than what is listed in the door jamb? Did they put a thicker oil in the motor than what is listed in the manual? How are your oxygen sensors? Do you have any check-engine codes?

My car has almost 200k miles and it is down about 10% in mileage versus when it was brand new. Parts inside the engine and transmission get worn out over time.

I get 22-23 in my 6 cylinder, city driving. Got 24-26 on the highway. Ethanol in gas will take 10% of your mileage away. Thank you environmentalists and corn lobbyists.
