It's what keeps the great city of Houston so diverse and not stagnant!

They never named themselves that. Keith Olberman used the term as a derisive attack. Its "T.E.A. Party", which stands for "Taxed Enough Already". Most of Americans were not even familiar with the homosexual term teabagging. Naturally the lefties were the exception and they drew a connection right away. People see what they want to see.

I think most Americans are familiar with the term "tea-bagging".

Also, it's not a homosexual term. Do you think it's only guys who can be teabagged?

I agree that most Americans are familiar with the term tea-bagging. It is common knowledge. I find it hilarious that you are suggesting this term is "naturally" left wing! It does not have a political affiliation. Do you really believe that? That would be like saying BJs are only for republicans! Really? And it is not a homosexual term by the way.... rogerbacon do you know what it means; I'm skeptical after reading your post...

Wow I did not expect this thread to take such an entertaining turn!

You say it will be blue soon, yet the Republicans have a super majority in the Texas Legislature. That must hurt.

With any luck we'll have an immigration reform bill here on the plate. The little blue babies won't be able to stop it. Finally!!

9 of the last 10 Presidential elections Texas voted Red. That is 40 years of history pal. I haven't been alive longer than that.

Go look at some tea party videos. They said "teabagging" themselves. Olberman just spread the word about it more.

You have to look at the percentages of the win. Look at how much Bush won by as compared to McCain. Plus, a lot of people from the West Coast, Midwest, and Northwest have been moving to Texas lately. Those are a lot of blue areas. The urban areas in Texas all continue to turn blue and they hold the majority of the population.

You are right. I heard it from comments they made first and THEN heard Olbermann and Maddow refer to it.

I hear black folks using the N-word all the time, so I guess that means it's okay for us whities to use, right?

Wow. You act like these are two similar circumstances. Using a racial term that has been used to demean Blacks in this country from way back in the slavery days versus a slang term that a lot of tea partiers ignorantly chanted and put on posters at their rallies. If you think these things are the same, then I have some ocean front property to sell you in Dallas. Please.
