Default Moving to Houston - Areas to live

Hello,
Moving to Houston from Scotland with my wife in September for a couple of years and I am looking for some info on areas to live.

I will be working on the energy corridor (off the Katy) and I know how bad the traffic can be.
No children so the school is not a deciding factor.

Looking for minimum 3 bed house to rent which my company will pay for.

I have heard MLS areas West/Central West/Memorial areas all south of the Katy are good.

Very much appreciate some greater detail on specific areas and any other nuggets of information from my soon to be Texan neighbours.

thanks.

If you have a big budget, I would get a place in the Memorial/Spring Branch area if your job site is east of Highway 6.

If your job site is west of Highway 6, I would get a house in the Katy area.

The Katy area houses are cheaper, so if you cannot get a home in the Memorial/Spring Branch area, and your job is outside BW8, that will have a small commute.

Another option to consider is the Briar Forest/Eldridge area.
