It seems like they are just looking for reasons to hassle people and give them tickets and when you need them their "services" are just pathetic and a waste of time. I'm not even a minority either and I've had this experience. I have noticed that HPD thuggery has gotten way worse since the recession started.

Does anyone else think the city of Houston is just out to get people so they can make their budget to pay for useless employees and over-inflated salaries?

Default Hmmm....

Police don't pull people over for no reason usually. I agree that all police departments have a quota system, though it is not documented anywhere. However, if someone was speeding, for example, and they got pulled over and ticketed for it, well, it is what it is.

I agree that they should spend less time pulling people over for expired vehicle safety stickers and more time getting the pedophiles off the streets.

Btw, every few days of each week for the past 5-6 months, HPD is pulling over cars on 59s going towards Downtown right before the Travis exit. It looks like for expired stickers, so get them renewed!

I have found that my aluminum foil helmet protects me from both the black U.N. helicopters that circle the skies of Houston as well as the HPD, which does the bidding of the evil city which is out to get all of us.

It's not really a conspiracy theory to note that the city has no money and has lots of useless employees to pay and that ticketing is up.

I suspect before the end of the day, you'll be either banned or in timeout

Other than their appalling driving I haven't a bad word to say about the men and women who put their lives on the line, day in-day out, to protect us for what are meager rewards.

No, of course it's not. They really are out to get us.

Agree .... they pull you over for real infractions - speeding (as much as we hate these things, a speed trap only gets the people going over the posted speeds), expired registrations and stickers .... if you want to run the police down for these items, thinks about the apt. and condo bldgs that have your car towed for having those expired items - then you get to pay towing and impound lot fees. I do volunteer work with people from many different countries and when the topic of police comes up - the majority say they love the ones here compared to the countries they are originally from. I support HPD and think they do a good job --- as with any profession (even your own) you can always find a few bad apples...we're human (including HPD) with all the frailties that go with that.
