Does anyone know where to buy gas without ethanol anywhere in Houston or Katy? It's killing my jeep and my mpg since I've been visiting here. Thanks!

I've read that Shell V-Power (93 octane) contains no ethanol, but I don't know if it's really true. Might try a tank full and see how your jeep does.

I don't think you will find one in the Houston Metro area. Ethanol additive is an EPA mandate in fuel sold in cities where air pollution is a problem.

Thank you for the link! It is just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, no 10% gas in Houston though.

The EPA rule states Harris County and any county that touches Harris County* must use ethanol. So Houston drivers are SOL.

I'm like you and despise ethanol. I drive 290 all the time, so I usually stop at the Chappell Hill Shell to get ethanol free gas. I also used to stop at the Brenham Shell (where 290 makes its famous cloverleaf, and everyone misses the Austin exit), but sometime in the last few months they stuck the warning stickers** on their pumps. Don't know whether it actually has ethanol, and don't know why they put the stickers on, since they are NOT mandated to use it. But since then, I have stopped using that station totally.

* Harris, Montgomery, Liberty, Chambers, Galveston, Brazoria, Fort Bend and Waller counties all touch Harris County.

** "Warning--may contain up to 10% ethanol by volume" or whatever they say.

Does 10% Ethanol really "kill your Jeep"?? Excuse my ignorance but I don't get it, less mpg I get, but how is the Jeep engine different from the others? Somebody enlighten me, or is the OP just being dramatic?
