Where in Houston can I buy a Bedroom set for a Single person?

What would be a good size for the Bed?

Overstock.com has good prices but there are no stores to check it out.

All depends on how much you want to spend, and how nice of stuff you want. Ikea is cheap, but you get what you pay for. The DUMP has a huge selection with a big variety price wise, but it can be frustrating if you don't know how to distinguish between quality furniture and crap.

Look for the most expensive Ikea stuff-- it is actually pretty decent. I have a TV stand and a shelf mixed almost seamlessly with Broyhill pieces in the den.

Room Store's upper-middle priced sets are also pretty good.

I think you can pay to have it put together.

I am not sure about mattresses. For headboards, nightstands, etc., there are several options.

On used stuff, estate sales are always good. There is a site estatesales.net or something like that where you can look stuff up. Blue Bird resale has some good pieces sometimes, and the rental return at places like Cort furniture can sometimes have deals. Bargain Bazaar, the big yellow and black building on the Gulf Freeway by Scott can have some deals too.

On new stuff, Ikea as previously mentioned, West Elm really isn't too expensive. There is always Gallery furniture I suppose.

I have picked up a few filler pieces at estate sales, Blue Bird, rental return, just to set up a room or two in vacant houses. Not model home quality by any means, but just something to take the cold edge off a vacant house.

I picked up a blue Henredon sofa at a estate sale for $50 recently. Put it with some side table from Blue Bird and a Jonathon Adler knock off chair from Bargain Bazaar.

I picked up a fake barcelona set at Aaron's rental return too. It works for what I need it to do.

And I got another dining set once from Cort rental return for some staging.

So if you need something on the cheap, sometimes you can find something at those places.
