Good, clean area, housing good, affordable apartments wt all amenities.Close to basic amenities for families & children
Indian families in neighbourhood
Good elementary school for Indian kids, pref blue ribbon school

Are there good schools in Sugarland?

Yes, Sugar Land has excellent schools (Lots of Blue Ribbon & Exemplary Schools). I am also Asian Indian and I went to arguably one of the hardest and most competitive schools for elementary, middle, & high school. Aim an area zoned to Fort Settlement Middle School or First Colony Middle School. Colony Bend Elementary, Colony Meadows Elementary, Settlers Way Elementary, Austin Parkway Elementary, those are the best in elementary. And Clements High School is the best high school in the district academically, also where I went to school.

Try the apartments called: Gables, they are located on Austin Parkway, right next to the First Colony Mall. All grocery shopping, mall shopping, food options are there.

Sugar Land has quite a lot of Indian restaurants too, and they are very close to the apartment complex. The area is very safe, there is nothing to worry about and it is secure too, the police are always on patrol duty so you don't ever have to worry either.

Here is the site for it: Sugar Land Apartments for Rent - Luxury Sugar Land*TX Apartments by Gables Residential

Good luck with your move! And this area is very diverse, lots of food options for almost every ethnicity, and very safe and affluent. And good school system.

You need to also consider the location of you or your husband's workplace. Houston is a very large place and commutes can be very long.

Yes - the First Colony area is probably what you're looking for. There are a few apartment complexes in the area. There are also rental homes around Grants Lake.

And also if she's working as well. Where are the offices located? If work is in Clear Lake or the north side of town, Sugar Land is too far of a commute.

Though concentrated on the southwest side most of all, just about every area of Houston will have Indian residents.

Where will your husband be working? That can determine more where you live because commutes to some places from Sugarland will be unreasonable. We would be in Sugarland if it was not for the fact that my son commutes to Pasadena.

Thanks, nana.
Actually my husband will be working from home mostly, so that is not a consideration. only kids school & good Indian neighbourhood & good locale is the criteria.

If by "Indian neighborhood" you mean like an ethnic enclave, the only one I know of in the Houston metro is this: Mahatma Gandhi District, Houston - Wikipedia

Otherwise generally, they are just mixed up with everyone else in regular neighborhoods.

Maybe compared to other suburbs, but I think the populations of these are actually a lot more significant in parts of Houston.
