you should've said what was really fact. "minorities that come from impoverished and disadvantaged communities tend to resort to crime as a way of life" <---- that is a fact...."blacks destroy cities" is not a fact. but i'm not the least bit surprised that you wouldn't understand the difference

i guess you think helping out the evacuees gives you a pass to say whatever you want about blacks without being corrected, huh?

I think Houston is becoming more renown as a hotspot for blacks since places like Atlanta are being hit harder than Houston during the recession. Nowadays, it's not about "which places have the most blacks, so I'm going to move there", it's now "which places have the better jobs, have the better opportunities, have the lowest cost of living, etc."

There's no excuse for car jackings or murder, skin color isn't a free pass to commit a crime no matter how or where you grew up.
who said it was? but as i've argued time and time again, how can you expect people to DO better if they've never been SHOWN better? how?

you cannot sit there and tell me that a kid with a crackhead mother and an absentee father is just going to automatically know that they can do better without a good role model in their life.

Where did you read that at? Not disputing it, but just hadn't heard it had grown that much.

The current population for metro Houston is 6 million+. The black percentage is 17%. 17% of 6 million+ is above 1 million.

Backspace and AlGreen, Politics and Controversy forum is really the appropriate place to talk about the sociological aspects of the black community. Yall are taking us off topic.

I don't recall a single news report of a white Katrina refugee killing anyone in Houston while thousands of white folks from NO came here and many stayed.

This has nothing to do with racism, it's about fact that you can't dispute so go ahead and check yourself.
Actually, it's an extremley ignorant statement. Over 80% of Katrina refugees in Texas were black, compared to just over 10% being white. That is the reason why reported Katrina refugee crime predominantly involved African-Americans.
