My wife is going to UH as a grad student. We have 1 child 1 year old. We wanted to stay somewhere with great daycares and very safe (Aprtment or Townhouse) living. We loved the Sugar land area when we went but things there seem kind of pricey.

Which areas would qualify for this? I am more concerned about safety at home and daycares than I am with a daily commute down to the University

I would think the south/southeastern suburbs would be the best choices, Pearland, Friendswood, Clear Lake.
