Which stores around town are the best place to buy some Middle Eastern pastries? Is it going to be around the Hillcroft/Richmond area or something? Thanks.

Hi JL,

I used to shop at Phoenicia when I lived in Houston and they have some pretty good pastries! It is on Westheimer close to Kirkwood.

Hands down - Phoenicia! They have pre-packed sweets but their fresh pastries are delicious!
You can buy and try a variety of one serving pieces before you decide which kind you like the most. That what I did for Thanksgiving and will do again for Christmas. Variety works for me, because its really very hard to say which is the best!!

It is! They have some very yummy items. They also carry some very nice wines from around the globe for a good price.

I had the White Ballorieh the other day and now i'm hooked. It looks like pistachios , but tastes different. Really good stuff. Looks like most of the stuff is from Damascus, Syria. I'll check out Phoenicia later this week. Thanks.
