Seriously, they've been working on that for how many years now? Four? Five?

Maybe as soon as they get enough naive folks to buy their homes?

Ella Crossing started out as a Perry Home community, until they bailed in 07 or 08 (can't remember).
KB popped up in 2009 and started building the last section. As of last week, they're down to about 15 lots. They build those homes so fast it's scary. I wouldn't buy one!!!

Quality depends on the construction super. I've had no issues with my house in Tuscan Lakes and have had excellent response from the few warranty requests that did come up. Did a lot of research before buying, spoke to some other people who had purchased in previous years and had the same construction super. Had nothing but good things to say. Have friends in other cities that have been in a KB Home for over 10 years now and have had no issues other than normal maintenance. Not saying KB hasn't had issues in the past and some areas still have some...but to just state comments like have been stated here with no personal experience to back them up misleads a lot of people. I know people at work who have had homes built by supposed top builders and have had far more problems than I've had with KB.

They started building in Tuscan Lakes in 2009 with approx 50 lots after a couple other builders left and are down to 3 as of now.

It's not so much the quality with KB, it's that it's a really cheap builder and it's not uncommon to see the KB neighborhoods plagued with foreclosures and then the neighborhood go down. I was coming through the west side of the metro recently and saw a sign on the Westpark Tollway for KB homes for a neighborhood right next to that Cross Creek Ranch place salespeople are always pumping.

Anything with KB in it or next to it would be a sign to me to look at a different community instead.

Depends on the subdivision. Due to all the requirements in Tuscan Lakes, when they first started building the cheapest home available was $150k for about 1400sqft. As the market continued to decline I think the 1400sqft one got down to about $135k. Most of the homes built range in value from $160k-$250k in Tuscan Lakes. Wouldn't necessarily call that cheap. Other subdivisions have similar requirements resulting in a higher base price because instead of being optional, a lot of things are included as standard.

And to answer the original question....they will be done when they sell all the lots they have. The no longer build homes before they have a buyer to have inventory homes.

Been in my kb home for two years now and haven't had a single warranty issue (knocks on wood). As Jason said, it depends on the super. Mine was great and it helped that i came to the house at least once a week during the build to check on things....anything i noticed that i didn't like, the super gladly repaired/replaced.
