Default New Highway 90 (Crosby Freeway)

Will the connection of "New 90" (Crosby Freeway) from I-10 east to beltway 8 ever get completed? There is a wonderful completed ramp from I-10 that is blocked and from 10 you can see a completed freeway heading northeast. At beltway 8 the freeway heading east to Crosby has been completed for years. Somewhere in the middle there is a apparently a problem

Anyone have any idea on the hold up or completion?

It will probably be open late 2011. Just be glad it is not another toll road. If it was a toll road it would have already been completed and opened. You know how they rush to build a toll road and not a FREEWAY.

Talking It will open Q1 of this year

The whole stretch from Beltway 8 to 610 is supposed to open next month.
It has been in construction since 2006 and was supposed to open in 2009 but had some issues with Centerpoint near its intersection with S. Lake Houston Pkwy and Wallisville Rd. Since those issues were resolved last year, the pace of construction has picked up very quickly and is now mostly complete.

So glad I won't have to take BW 8 & I-10 or Beaumont Hwy to get downtown anymore.

Google Maps satellite imagery was recently updated to circa Sept. 2010. You can see the progress of 90 at the link below.

I'll be glad when it opens because it will certainly make it easier to visit friends in Crosby.

I just drove the route Sunday and I noticed they still have not even started on a bridge over a bayou just north of Wallisville. Everything else looks real close. Noticed a sign on the freeway that said "Freeway Ends" just before bayou. Maybe they will open and route on feeder and then you can get back on after the bayou. I sure hope they open it soon!

Default Southbound is open

I just drove from beltway 8 southbound on the brand new hwy 90 all the way to 610.

The northbound lanes still aren't open, but the southbound is ready to go!

My commute just thanked me.
