Same here, the meter reading was wrong. I kinda realized that soon but was waiting for Si-Energy to confirm, actual bill was just 33.09 not 194/-. The 2nd dial (of the 4 dials) it seems was not reading properly and they changed the AMR.

I am still unconvinced about the way Si-energy is charging us for service and the rate at which my meter reading is going up. I am keeping a note of my usage.

After this wrong meter reading fiasco, I received my next month bill and Si-energy over read the meter. According to them, my mtere recorded 1246 cu ft on the 27th of Jan. I have been noting the meter reading every single day and on my book it is only 1187.

When I called them to dispute, the lady at the customer service (who is always rude) asked me the current reading. My meter currently reads 1262. Now, she is saying since the reading is more than 1246, the reading taken by Si-Energy is right. This is ridiculous because, if Si-energy is right, I have used only 16cuft (1262 -1246) of gas betn 27th Jan and 13th Feb. This is when houston was going through freezing temperatures. My avg use is about 5-6 cuft every day especially during cold days.

Secondly, my bill mentions a service period betn 28th of every month to the 27th of the next month. And she was saying it is always 18th to 17th of every month. Looks like si-Energy is not even entering the billing dates properly.

Has anyone else experienced this situation before and what do I do in such a situation?

[quote=gs268;17342429]Our gas bill during the month of Dec turned out to be an atrocious $194/-. This despite we were out of town for 4 days, left the heater off, but not the water heater.

Lucky You... I have an Electric Furnace and after the Dec bill broke my bank, I am not even looking forward to the January bill...
