I don't understand why people get so worked up about roaches, which are largely harmless. Worry, instead, about bugs like this (the brown recluse spider):

Ever since I heard about this bug, I kill spiders on sight.

I've never, ever had a roach land ON me. If anything they are more scared of humans than you are of them!

They occasionally get indoors. Keep your doors closed and you don't tend to get too many of them.

Our cat also takes care of them for us or at least alerts us when they are nearby.

And if all else fails, get a few Vinegaroons and they will take care of the roach population naturally. They eat roaches and are harmless to humans even if they do look mean:

You are absolutely right! I think those fuzzy ants are actually a type of wingless wasp. They have long, thing stingers. Those harrier-hornets are cicada killers. As a kid I killed one (and was scared to death of it) and it had a stinger about a half an inch long. Those things kill and carry away bugs 2x their size. They are the Chuck Norris of the bug world.

Ha! It might make a cat think twice about hunting it. It sprays a vinegar scented spray when provoked.

Well, don't forget your nose, but.... there could be a little problem - so soon you put a cotton balls in your nose, you will have to open your mouth...

So, why don't you stay up whole night and real all those scary stories...
