Currently, I have selected this brick for my house:

- Product Catalog - Boral Bricks

It's like a burgundy color.

I am having trouble deciding on the stones.

Here are my choices

-Alaskan Flagstone

-Dakota Flagstone

-Sierra

What do y'all think? I really can't decide so any seasoned home owners can drop their two cents. I love ya!

How about just sticking with all brick. Are you dead set on a brick & stone combo?

Personally I like the first stone choice (the all white one). Because they brick you chose is red, with no browns, there won't be any browns to tie in with the browns in the other 2 stone choices.

It will be a stark difference between the stone and the brick. But if you go with the red brick you choose, I think it will look very nice.

If you have to do stone and brick which I do like and you have to have the red brick than I agree the first one is the way to go. If you could change out the brick than I like the other two options.

The red brick looks colonial and the stone is hill country. I like the red brick by itself more. Maybe you can use the stone for a back patio or something.

I like the Alaskan and the Dekota!

It is not like everyone else on the block. I have seen that look in England, Ireland, California and in West University-Houston, TX. I think it is pretty.

I would also just stick with the brick. Some might say that's bland and boring, but I never cared for that Western looking stone.

I'd strongly suggest going with more of a stacked stone. The texture works much better with brick. Flat-faced stones invariably clash badly with rectangular brick.

I think this current fad (yes, I said it) of putting country stone with brick (sometimes accompanied by a tin roof, all on a colonial design) is going to look very, very "dated" in 5 years.

I'd go with the classic "all brick", but if you MUST have stone, the white one (holds nose).
