This shocks me. Is this the highest in the South outside Miami? I didn't expect that many there.

As for Hispanics. This will be the future of Houston. Might as well get use to it or prepare for it if you aren't ready, illegal or not. I full expect the Hispanic population to be over 2 million by the time the census releases it's numbers.

Miami's a great marketer but it can over exaggerate itself sometimes. It does indeed have more Italians than Houston, but Houston can compete with Miami-Fort Lauderdale on a lot of European nationalities. But yeah, Houston has the largest number of Italians in the "South" outside of Miami.

Here is Miami's profile for comparison's sake:

Miami MSA Composition Breakdown (Ethnically-White/West Indian):

The government will crack down on II eventually; probably not in our lifetime, but eventually.

According to you, this thread's purpose is to be a go-to for info about Houston's demographics. We're talking numbers of illegals, so I fail to see how that doesn't pertain to the topic.

Well that's not what I meant though, you didn't post "information" about Houston's "illegal population" all you said was "I read somewhere there is over 500,000 of them in Houston". Those are not facts though or information, and I'd like to see where you read that, not that I don't believe it, but I don't buy into how Houston has almost as much as Los Angeles. That's pretty up there.

My thread isn't about illegal immigrants nor is it to scrutinize one group of people regardless of how they got here at all, we're all people and I don't want to see that kind of hate for anyone here. Please save that conversation for A&M Bulldawgs thread, where its more appropriate for it: Is Houston's Diversity Overrated?

Illegal immigration is an emotional topic, there is a forum dedicated to it, in the politics section, I never go there because people there say the most inhumane things about others, but I think thats a better suited board room for the topic of "illegal immigration".

Who's hating? Anyway, I still want someone to find the most recent estimates, but I'll stop talking about it in your precious thread...you know, you could whine if you wanted to

You're not hating, but opening a can of worms instead with it. Haha.

It's mean dude. It's really inhumane to come into a thread and go like "well i think the Hispanic population has to thank the Illegal Immigrants in the city" that's just messed up man. I'm saying that as someone whose been against illegal immigration but for human rights.

Most of those people come here, they make a family, they live normal lives, they didn't harm anyone. But people out there still want to come in and treat them like 2nd class humans, and that is utterly despicable, I don't care what the reason is, its just low.

Yes, I would like to stop talking about illegal immigration. I think we're more mature than that and can have a progressive conversation without that possibility. It's no secret that Houston has like probably the 3rd largest illegal immigrant population in the United States after only Los Angeles & Miami, but its still rude to profile people in such a manner either way. In my opinion it is at least.

I was shocked by those Italian numbers as well. As far as illegal immigration...BOO!

I'm all for diversity, but the hispanic population growth happening in Texas is unnatural and I don't like it. Call me racist or prejudice, but I like balance.

I really agree with you, and I'm prejudice either. I feel like the government should treat everyone equally, so these Hispanics will stop coming here illegally. Everyone deserves a right to have a great life, so I feel like it's not fair that some Hispanics have to come here illegally; the government should be fair to everyone.
