I've never lived anywhere as bad as Houston area when it comes to Hit and Run. I'm sure some homer will chime in and say it's because Houston is a big city, I call BS on that. Does anyone ever stop anymore?

There are A LOT of people here with no insurance dut to the thousands of illegals and ghetto people. I had a vehicle totalled by an uninsured motorist here. Police never showed up.

Big city with a lot of uninsured drivers. I am insured against uninsured, its just a few extra dollars but it helps...
Also people without drivers license, with warrants or under influence will run too.

This is one of my least favorite things about Houston, for sure.

But really, I was thinking the same thing. That incident on the S. Post Oak overpass is near where I live..

It's not that there are more in Houston. It's because we HEAR more about them with up-to-the-minute, every minute reporting. Instantaneous communications with a penchant for the spectacular are why it appears there are more.

Yep. Happens a lot in other cities too. In the past year I've heard of a few in other large cities.

It's really sad, definitely. It takes a crappy human being to hit and run. I always hope the guilt eats them up.

A few years back I was riding my motorcycle on a 35mph rd and it just started to rain. A woman pulled out of a driveway in front of me, crossing the rd to turn left and go in the opposite direction. I couldn't stop in time and last thing i remember is hitting the brakes. Apparently the bike went down and i smacked right into the side of her car. Technically, I hit her. But blacked out so i dont remember any of it. AND SHE STILL TOOK OFF! I guess I never passed out completely because next thing I know I'm standing in the median (helmet in hand) with some lady who saw it happen and I'm asking her what happened... for the 5th time. lol She said the woman screemed out that she didn't see me and then left. Jeeeezzzzz... a motorcyclist runs into your car, almost totaling the bike, and you still take off, not even knowing if the guy is dead or not. Some people.
