That + gallons of water, every day until it takes hold.

On a side note, I personally avoid Houston Garden Centers. Lowes is a better choice. A locally owned nursery, even better.

Yeah good catch, forgot about the darn water. I am a beer guy

Yes you need to water it every day for at least a month then put it back on the sprinkler schedule.

I got a quote of $900 installed to completely re-sod my back yard in St. Augustine. I have a "standard" Houston back yard.

I'm having them come over in mid-March.

I have heard about zoysia, but it may not be for me since my land has a lot of clay in the soil and drainage does not seem optimal.

I thought about resodding, which would take care of the most bare patches, but the front overall looks scraggly and I thought reseeding might be a better option. I imagine that resodding the whole lot would be quite an undertaking, not to mention expensive to boot.

Has anyone reseeded their own lawn recently? Any recs for services that do this?

Thanks again!
St. Augustine cannot be reseeded, it grows by "runners". So just get some patches from Home Depot and fill in the spots that are bare. But wait until April because my guess is the lawn will green up before then.
