robertsd247 is an unknown quantity at this point
You are looking at a good 35 to 45 mins, depending on where in downtown you are going.

It also depends on where in Clear Lake you are living.

If you are closer to Seabrook, you might even consider taking (Texas) Highway 146 to 225 (La Porte Freeway) then catch the loop and head up 45 into downtown.

it depends on the time of the day and which day you travel up I-45 from Clearlake. traffic starts to build up around 6:30am on weekdays. weekends are more easy. if you want to get a heads up on traffic in Houston check out Houston News, Texas News, Houston, Texas Weather and Sports - KPRC Local 2 Click2Houston they have a traffic link, tells you where things are bogged down. hope this helps!
