Depends on where in League City you live - of course the farther in, you will be delayed by red lights, etc. getting to the freeway. But on a good day - average 45 minutes (closer to freeway - not on freeway but closer) to an hour (farther inside). Nice area, good schools and quality of life.

League city is a great area. I don't know about the downtown commute since I've been fortunate to always live close to work, but there is a park-and-ride (park your car and ride the bus) in Clear Lake just minutes from League City. I know people who live in League City and drive 15 minutes to catch the bus to downtown.

I worked in downtown for a summer and lived just north of downtown but ended up staying at my parents house in league city a couple of times and commuting to work in the morning. It was hell and I would never do it again willingly. That being said I didn't have it down to a science or anything which would most likely shave some time off but in general you are setting yourself up for what is most likely going to be a miserable commute.
