And that was in a world with air conditioining. I can't remember the last time a cold blast killed hundreds at a time in Chicago, but around 750 are estimated to have died there as the result of a Houston-like heatwave in 1995. There is a reason that Houston was a small town until air conditioining could be cheaply mass produced.

Babb is the only trustworthy memeber on the current board. But Caldwell is not running for re-election and Menendez is being opposed, so maybe there is hope. If you are tired of the status quo then don't forget to vote on May 14!

Susan Hohnbaum is another big problem on the BOT who is currently running unopposed. Anyone who lives on the west side of the district (most of Sugar Land) can challenge her by filing before March 14.

If I hadn't moved to Meyerland, I would have ran this year.

What lies? I was talking about my life in the post you quoted. I do hate the heat. I don't like driving around at all (my eyes are not great and I end up having my dh or dil drive me places which means I am dependent on others and I have never been dependent on anyone for getting around before). Do you think I do not have an autistic grandson? Do you think I did not move here to help my dil and ds? What lies?

Tried to rep you and I got the "have to spread some rep around" message, but, "Amen!"
