Are you crazy? San Marcos is the halfway point between Austin and San Antonio. Katy Mills is more reasonable--too bad Sealy Outlet Centre is a dump. Conroe Outlet Center is a good one. Isn't there another outlet centre on I-45 near Galveston?

Since when did shopping outlet centers become luxury shopping centers?

Um, no, it takes me 2 hours exactly to get to San Marcos outlet stores from my house. I live at I-10 and the Beltway.

Um....yyyyyeah............no, I'm not crazy. IMHO, Katy Mills sucks.
The question was where are the best outlet stores, and I answered. She didn't ask where the best ones were in Houston. Most women don't mind driving 2-3 hours if the outlet is exceptional, and San Marcos most definitely is.
San Marcos-- Prime Outlets
San Marcos-- Tanger Outlets

Well, yeah, it does help if you're way out there and you're not far from where the speed limit signs start saying "70" again...I'll be quarter of the way into two hours at least before just getting where you are.

I'm not in Katy. I'm in Memorial. But, I see your point. It would take someone living in Clear Lake a lot longer.

I think that would be La Marque....exit 14 or 15 something. Past the greyhound track on the right heading south toward Galveston.

Crazy? Maybe, but a lot of people in the region travel to San Marcos (and Conroe) just for the shopping. My mother and aunts used to go there routinely a few times a year to scour the outlets.
