That's amazing, I think you are the exception to the rule if you never wore a retainer and your teeth are still straight. Were your teeth very crooked before braces?

I think retainers vary. I know people who had braces and were told they did not have to wear a retainer.

If you won't be diligent about wearing retainers, don't bother getting them straightened.
I got a permanent retainer behind the top four and lower 6 AND I wear a retainer at night - I am so happy to have nice teeth that I have no problem wearing the night retainer. I did have to wear an invisalign retainer during the days on the uppers for one year after - I had a harder time doing that than wearing the nighttime Hawley retainer.

Hey Mike. Not sure if im to late but Im 30 and just got FastBraces on. Ive been wearing them for about a month now. I had both crowding on my tops and bottoms. I didn't get Invisalign because of the cost. Somewhere around 5k. These cost of these FastBraces I got a great deal on. 2k flat. Anyway right before getting them I tried search online for information on fastbraces and couldn't find any info on it. So I decided to make a website to help track my progress for people like you to see and follow my results. My Life Wearing Fast Braces as an Adult is my site. Im currently 1 month in and is having great results. I have before and after photos. Although Im just one month in my teeth are shifting in place great. If you have any questions, let me know and Ill help answer them since I have them on.

Im 33, and my upper teeth are pretty straight, most people would think I was crazy for getting braces based on my smile alone, but I do have a few teeth on the top that could be straightened. My lowers have some crowding in the front. I noticed that when i speak, they are prominent, and it bothers me.

My main motivation is vanity, to be blunt. So its a tough choice to look funny as an adult for a couple years. I have been considering Invisalign, and fastbraces. Invisalign takes a LONG time, and other issues with it keep it from being ideal. I think the best would be to see if I could have my uppers straightened out pretty quickly, maybe up to six months. Then if I used ceramics on my lowers, they wouldnt be very noticeable, and not at all in pictures, as my lowers dont show at all....

Valid thinking?
