Default Dealing with realtors to rent??

Hi,

So I've never done this before, just wondering what I should look for? I want to rent an apartment in June/July and have toured a couple of places in the areas I want to live and failed to meet my expectations. As far as online sources go, I have religiously checked Craigslist and other apartment websites. Unfortunately, the same 5-6 places are always re-listed and nothing new hardly ever comes up.

I came across Bamboo Leasing and their properties are exactly what I am looking for. Has anybody ever dealt with them? Do I have to pay a fee to the realtors to find what I am looking for? I am a little confused to how this works. I will definitely drive around the area and scope some 'For Rent' signs but if I had a list instead that would be more beneficial. Can anybody recommend some good realtors in the area? I am looking to move into the Montrose/Heights/Warehouse District/West Gray area if that helps any.

Thanks,

Alex

We are currently looking for a rental as well, but a house not an apartment. I don't know if it is different for a house, but so far it looks like almost every rental is listed in the mls. The property owner pays a fee equal to one month's rent for each property. This fee is split between the renters agent and the owners agent. So, no, it doesn't cost you anything.

we used in the loop properties when we first rented then bought in the Montrose area. like pegotty said we never paid the agent who helped us find our rental. he gets a deal with the landlord. i believe our first rental payment went directly to in the loop.

the place we rented, that is for rent now, is not listed on mls so i dont know how that works

Default Try HAR

Have you checked HAR. Go to har.com and you will find the same lists of rentals as the realtors. We found a house to rent off of this when we first moved back to Houston, plus you can see pictures and get other information on the place. Hope this helps.
