Moving to Houston in August & just beginning our house hunt. I have no idea what area to look in . . our priorities are
1) Schools (can't afford private with four kids) would like it to not be huge if possible
2) Location (we will be attending Lakewood Church & would like to travel less than 20 min to get there)
My spouse will be based from home but will travel daily(Houston, Austin, San Antonio). $700K budget
Is the Woodlands close to Greenway Plaza? How do their schools rate? What about Katy? Heard their schools are good. We're also looking at Sugarland or Sienna Plantation?
Also . . . how in the world does one find a good realtor? We know no one in Houston to ask for recommendations! Help!!

Extremely good public schools, in a small school district that has a huge budget and doesn't suffer from rezoning,on the westside, soaring property values, about 20 minutes to your church on Sundays. It's an older neighborhood, but its been a strong contender for over 60 years for schools plus location.

Clint Simpson, Carter Bred, Veronica Vatterott, Carol Waldrop for agents for that area.

The Woodlands and Katy are a long way from Lakewood church--even on a Sunday morning. Sugarland and Sienna Plantation would not be a bad trip to Lakewood on a Sunday morning when most of the traffic that usually snarls such a commute is not on the freeways. You could fly in 59 or the Westpark toll road that time on a Sunday.
