What large companies are setup in and around Sugar Land? Which ones have made plans to move in that general area?

Besides Imperial Sugar, I don't know of others in Sugar Land. I'm sure there are a few. Keep in mind that across from Sugar Land is Stafford. Stafford has a number of companies including Texas Instruments. What are you looking for in particular?

Imperial Sugar
Minute Maid/Coca Cola
Nalco
TimeGate Studios
Healix
Fluor
Schlumberger
Sunoco Logistics
Methodist
St. Luke's
Memorial Hermann
Kelsey-Seybold
Healthsouth
Noble
GE Energy
Aetna
Windstream Comm.
Baker Hughes
ABB
Noble
Western Airways
Tramontina
TechRadium
Thermo Fisher Scientific

... those are just the larger ones I can think of. There are a slew of smaller, less-known places including several tech-related. And of course city government and related. There's a large business park near Meadows Place and another proposed to be built near the airport when the prison is closed/relocated. Seems like every few months I read about some new place, here's the latest (http://www.fortbendnow.com/2011/04/21/51483 - broken link) I saw, and here's one from last year (http://www.fortbendnow.com/2010/06/03/45993 - broken link).

Texas Instruments and several other places are next door in Stafford.

Nice list! and there is this from this week's news ... "Atos Origin, Inc. has chosen Sugar Land for the location of its North American headquarters."

Overrated and overhyped by whom?

I have lived all over the U.S. and I quite enjoy living in Sugar Land. Whatever nice things are said about Sugar Land, I think it deserves the compliments.
